It's Just a Daily...


Our goal is to share the stories and builds of people all over the valley, recognizing the blood sweat and tears people put into their own personal works of art. This week we have chosen a particularly interesting character to honor: Mr. Riley Lundquist.  He has been with us since the beginning, helping us mold Fit Mob into what it is today. 



And right along side him sits Smitty Warbenjรคgermanjensen, aka his 2003 BMW E46.  The car entered his family about six years ago, when his mother first purchased the stock 325ci.  Riley here has only owned it for about a year, though, and when he bought it from his mom the first thing he said to the rest of us was "It's only going to be a daily guys.... I promise." Apparently, Riley's idea of a daily is not what most would expect.



Seeing Riley's car in person is an interesting experience. Seeing it parked, nearly tucking all four wheels, may lead one to believe that the car is bagged. But if you ask, you will see a smile comparable to none when he assures you it is not. 



His intention was not to be the lowest. Heck we're pretty sure he didn't even want to get the coils in the first place! But Riley just couldn't help himself. Throwing caution to the wind, he slammed the ever living crap out of this car. Now, as fellow car people, you have all probably said "no I just want to see how it looks lowered all the way" at one point or another. If that is the case then you also know that, unless your car cannot physically move, the car probably wont be going any higher. As you can tell, Riley is the perfect example.

He is sitting so low on those 19s that the tires are starting to burn through the paint on the fenders. But the smile on Riley's face only grows as these incidents arise, a gracious reminder of just how low he is.






In a cruel turn of events the car was rear ended a few weeks back by a driver not paying attention. Having to deal with the insurance company, call after call until they finally decided to just total the car, left Riley completely heartbroken. He just seemed off shortly after he got the news, depressed and unenthusiastic. But, after having the car in limbo for about three weeks, Riley received some amazing news. The insurance company determined that rebuilding the car would be cheaper than compensating Riley for it, and decided to do a full rebuild on the car. This news brought both Smit and Riley back from the dead; and now that it was back in his possession, it became clear that the absence had only strengthened their bond.




If you know Riley, I'll bet you know at least one of his previous builds. And if you saw any of those you would know the amount of time and love was put into every single one of those cars. This one is no different.





The future plans of this car are sort of. . . all over the place. All we know is that it will be VIP, much lower, and involve infinitely more /camber\



Seeing the car in person will take you on a journey into the mind of this insane carchitect. It is truly as one of a kind as the man behind the wheel. 



Riley is at the Weekly Affair every week, spreading the local car scene love. Huge props to him for being there with us since the beginning.
